Institute (MDI), The Gambia, I welcome you to MDI's World Wide
Web pages, which set out in a succinct way information on the
Institute’s mission and its areas of operation.
Act of Parliament No. 13 of 1982 established the Management
Development Institute (MDI) as a body corporate to train Gambian
citizens to develop managerial skills in planning and implementation
of development programmes, and to promote the development of
administrative effectiveness and enhance professional competence
in management.
MDI carries out this mandate through six core programme areas:
General Management, Economic Management & Private Sector
Development, Financial Management & Accounting, Information
Technology & Computer Studies and Research & Consultancy.
The Institute also offers library and documentation services
to its staff, students, researchers and members of the public
at large.
The MDI has spearheaded a major transformation in management
development in The Gambia and continues to achieve giant strides
in equipping its clientele to meet the challenges of the 21st
century. With a professional staff complement of 14, with specialisms
ranging from public administration, education, economic and
financial management to information technology, the Institute
is poised to play an effective role in the human resource development
strategy of the Government of The Gambia and also to serve the
training, research and consultancy needs of interested parties
outside The Gambia.
This Website provides detailed information on the courses/workshops
and other activities provided by the Institute as well as
information on the facilities available on the MDI complex.
