Facilities

The Computer & Information Technology department at the MDI is the most modern in The Gambia. It accommodates 14 state-of-the-art Pentium computers, each with internet access, speakers and an array of up-to-date software, including MS Office 2000.

All class sizes are small, with one computer per student.

Anyone who enrolls on a computer course is entitled to use the computer laboratory to access e-mail free-of-charge for one year!

The department runs a six-month programme. Certifitcate in Information Technology Applications

Tailored courses that respond directly to your computer needs are also available. Training is available for almost all commercial software, in addition to general computer use and internet use.

Other software that we offer training in includes:

• the desktop publishing package Adobe PageMaker;
• the statistical package SPSS/PC;
• Statgraphics;
• Visual Basic programing;
• the database packages MS Access and Oracle;
• MS Project;
• Sage Payroll;
• Sage Financial Controller;
