The Kal Juwara Library is the largest source of business
material in The Gambia, as well being a depository library
for the World Bank.
It has a collection of over four thousand books covering
a wide area of business subjects. Subject areas include:
- management;
- accountancy;
- economics;
- public administration;
- information technology;
- marketing;
- statistics.
In addition, there is a special collection on gender with
relevant case studies and research findings.
Journals:
We subscribe to ten journals, which are also available for
reference. They cover current affairs, public administration,
personnel management, economic development and other subjects.
Audio and video tapes:
Audio and video tapes are available for training purposes.
They cover areas such as career delegation, time management,
quality circles, World Bank initiatives and many other subjects.
Who can join?
The library is primarily for MDI students and public servants,
but anyone is free to join. Each member is given two library
cards, entitling him/her to borrow two books at a time.
Membership is D60.00 per year.
Facilities:
The library is equipped with individual study carrels, large
reading tables and comfortable seating and is well-lit and
well-ventilated.
Also, upon request, the library can provide accommodation
for study and discussion groups.
Opening hours:
The library is open from 8.30 am to 4 pm on Monday to Thursday,
and from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm on Friday.
